Dangers of School.....

This is what bit my No. 3 son this week as he was doing his science project. Don't worry it is a harmless gardensnake. No. 3 son loves spiders and snakes. Don't worry the snake lives in our back yard garden. He also broke his little finger , but that is another story. Life is never dull when children are around.

This is what I am working this week for my oldest daughter. She is wanting 3 triangle fishnets to place her children's stuffed animals in.  

Playing with different stitches

I have been playing around making the diagonal hot pad using different stitches. The off white is stitched in single crochet worked in the back loop. Purple and white is stitched using 1 single in the first stitch and double in the next stitch, repeat, and is done in Sugar and Cream cotton with an I hook. The off white is done in a cotton that I don't know the name of and is not as thick as Sugar and Cream. Also with an I hook. That is why it is smaller.  

Surprizes

Look at what I recieved from my exchange partner at "Crochet partner' group. It's it wonderfull to recieve things from others. But I think we have more fun in giving. I can't wait to dive into those pillows. Just the colors alone match my new couch that needs pillows. Tea on a cold cloudy day is just so nice. 

Finished my magic square hot pad. I like the easy way it worked up. I wonder how many projects we can make with it? Huuummm? 

Is there a right or wrong side to this?  

I am working on the magic square in cotton as a hot pad. I like the way it goes. Has anyone figured out all the things you could make with the magic square? Slippers, purse, blanket, scarf, pillow, ect.... 

Tunisian crochet or Afghan stitch

Here is a picture of what I have been doing this week. I am still learning to Tunisian crochet and used this books instructions (Got at Annie's Attic) on making a sample of a flower with the Afghan stitch. I am suprised at how easy it was to make. I used the crochenit hook that came with the book. Not sure of its size I,J, or K. Or may be bigger. I notice it is not curling like most project do and I think it is do to the larger hook size. Might be because of the Tunisian knit. Don't know. I'm going to play with it some more and make some hot pads with the Tunisian knit. It makes a thick item.  

Here is what I have been working on for the last 2 weeks Fingerless gloves. Need to finish the trim on 2 of them. When I get them done I will post another pic. 

Is Hello down?

I have been trying to download some Pictures of what I have been crocheting for the last 2 weeks and it seems Hello is down, or is it BloggerBot. Any way it tells me I am not on line, But gee I could swear that I am on line or else how am I getting this online? (ghost writing?) Will try again later.

I think her favorite part was the slit sleeve. Over all I think she did a good job. It will count for her economics class.

How was your weekend? Mine was a little crazy. Finished Daughter's dress around 9pm Thursday. Grandchildren were running crazy. What do you expect for 6,5,3 year olds. Will put pica up later.
Still working on finishing the fingerling gloves. And my granddaughter wants some too. I thought it was just going to be a boy thing to play star wars with. Guess not.

Well I haven't gotten but 1 pair of fingerless gloves done. But, have finished half of my daughter's dress, she has done most of it I only did the hard parts, like the zipper, hem. Will be posting pictures soon. Hope to all done before Thursday afternoon as the rest of the grandkids are coming. Total of only 3 for a couple of days. But, want to focus on them than on sewing. Break time is over and need to get started working on the rest of the dress.  

Time does fly

Well I didn't get any crocheting, knitting, weaving, or sewing done yesterday. But did get half of the house clean. Need to finish downstairs today and the laundry. And will try to get four pair of fingerless gloves done today. If I do I will post pictures. Want to make the Lamb pillow that is at Lionbrand next week, But I don't know as Hubby may take off work who knows what will be going on? I will be helping my daughter finish her dress. Got to go and get busy.

This is the daughter that I thought would never touch a sewing machine. Like I said before this is the Tomboy of all Tomboys. But here she is sewing away on her Easter Dress. Yes a dress. We have almost finished it. We need to do the hem and wash and iron it. Then next week we have to do the sheer over coat. (Dum Dum Dummmmmm). I am not looking forward to that.
