Surprizes

Look at what I recieved from my exchange partner at "Crochet partner' group. It's it wonderfull to recieve things from others. But I think we have more fun in giving. I can't wait to dive into those pillows. Just the colors alone match my new couch that needs pillows. Tea on a cold cloudy day is just so nice. Posted by Hello

Is there a right or wrong side to this?  Posted by Hello

I am working on the magic square in cotton as a hot pad. I like the way it goes. Has anyone figured out all the things you could make with the magic square? Slippers, purse, blanket, scarf, pillow, ect.... Posted by Hello

Tunisian crochet or Afghan stitch

Here is a picture of what I have been doing this week. I am still learning to Tunisian crochet and used this books instructions (Got at Annie's Attic) on making a sample of a flower with the Afghan stitch. I am suprised at how easy it was to make. I used the crochenit hook that came with the book. Not sure of its size I,J, or K. Or may be bigger. I notice it is not curling like most project do and I think it is do to the larger hook size. Might be because of the Tunisian knit. Don't know. I'm going to play with it some more and make some hot pads with the Tunisian knit. It makes a thick item.  Posted by Hello

I think her favorite part was the slit sleeve. Over all I think she did a good job. It will count for her economics class. Posted by Hello

Creative Hands

Creative Hands
How was your weekend? Mine was a little crazy. Finished Daughter's dress around 9pm Thursday. Grandchildren were running crazy. What do you expect for 6,5,3 year olds. Will put pica up later.
Still working on finishing the fingerling gloves. And my granddaughter wants some too. I thought it was just going to be a boy thing to play star wars with. Guess not.

Will be posting pictures soon. Hope to all done before Thursday afternoon as the rest of the grandkids are coming. Total of only 3 for a couple of days. But, want to focus on them than on sewing. Break time is over and need to get started working on the rest of the dress.  Posted by Hello

This is the daughter that I thought would never touch a sewing machine. Like I said before this is the Tomboy of all Tomboys. But here she is sewing away on her Easter Dress. Yes a dress. We have almost finished it. We need to do the hem and wash and iron it. Then next week we have to do the sheer over coat. (Dum Dum Dummmmmm). I am not looking forward to that.  Posted by Hello

Best laid plans..........

Well, I didn't get any crocheting done. But, My daughter and I got started on her dress. Had gotten one of the multi-size patterns. Cut it out according to the measurements of her body. Well as we pined it together it was starting to look to big. So we pinned the whole thing together and realized it was 2 sizes to big. Have to do a lot of taking in. Thank goodness we hadn't sewn it yet.
We haven't cut out the sheer over coat yet. So we hopefully will not have a size problem with that one. Hope to finish the dress tomorrow as she will be gone this weekend. Then have next week to make the sheer overcoat. Have any suggestions or hints on how to work with sheer let me know. Could use all the help we can get.

Need to work on those fingerling gloves people ordered too. But the grandson was sick last night and upchucked. I think he has the stomach flu. Not eating, slight fever, and sleeping a lot. Poor baby he is only three.

Never enough time

I have been busy making fingerless gloves for the boys. Made some for my grandson's birthday, and now have request for all the boys at the party. Plus a mom or two. So I will be busy doing that this week.
Also my youngest daughter has decided to make her Easter Dress. Now if you knew this daughter you would know how astounding this is. This is the Tomgirl of Tomgirls. Never can get her in a dress, let alone do any kind of sewing. So this will have top priority. She has chosen a princess style that is sleeveless with a sheer over coat. The sheer ove coat scares me as I haven't worked with sheer myself. But we will try and hope for the best. We have less than two weeks and have only cut out the princess dress pattern not even have it on the clothe yet. Keep your fingers crossed for us.

Plasticky???

You are Acrylic.
You are Acrylic.
While you are very versatile, your plasticky
countenance can be offputting. You are very
good with children but can become a pill if
left alone with them too long. You are very
flexible but don't give in to manipulation.

What kind of yarn are you?
